Performance of Andial converted Cup Car
I drove my 92 US Carrera Cup for the first time yesterday. This one has been lightened quite a bit and has headers other than that I think it's stock. The car really hauls which surprised me a bit. I have driven stock 964's this feels much much quicker. I have a GT3 PCA race car and a 3.5 RSR so it's not like I am not used to high performance Porsche's. Are these supposed to be that strong, the car lights up a pair of 275 Hoosiers and jumped sideways hitting second gear if I lay into gas hard.

The motor and tranny have both been "gone through" so seals have been removed. The only thing I can find on paper work is R&P was replaced with a 8/32, what was stock final drive ratio.
Thanks,

I have had two of these. Race one for 5 years. Both had amazing performance, but even in a race with a low speed corner going from 1st to 2nd, the car never lit up the back tires.

Also, 1st and 2nd gear for the G50/10 were a bit taller than for the G50/05 (3.154 and 1.695 for G50/10 vs. 3.5 and 2.059 for the G50/05).

Alright it is the cahnge in R&P, this equates to a roughly a 16 % lowering of the final drive ratio. oldest trick in drag racing. About the same as going from a 8/31 to a 7/31 in a 915 which makes a huge difference. As far as getting more weight of of these car, they came with air bags a lot of interior crap and full glass. When Andial did the race car conversion all the air bags came out and some of the interior parts were removed. Mine has had even more of the interior removed to point were is is a pair of race seats and steering wheel, it also has lexan for windows. I know a guy with one of these that weighs 2200 lbs so I could still put mine on a pretty substanial diet.

2200 lbs - really
i am hoping for 2500 lbs w/carpet, glass, spg's, Hiego roll bar and steel cross mount, light weight wheels, and Rotors, Cat delete, and some other extra special bits.
But of course this will include a lot of "road" stuff as well. (glass, retractible reel belts to supplement the Willians.
Until the parade i am going to run it w/stock seats and bumper bars.

Wow, 2200#? My car is in the 2550-2600 range with its original lightweight glass, but I'm not sure what I could remove that would equal 300-400 lbs without changing body panels... (Moot point for me since the car has to stay as it is for its race class.)
