Default Brake pad help

I have a 1991 C4, and it is used as a daily driver with 3-4 de's this year at most. My question is , is there a good suggestion for brake pads that would work for street and de, or do I need to get a 2nd set of pads for de's. I have searched, but didn't really find the answer that I was looking for. Thanks in advance.

I go with devoted DE pads, and just use regular pads on the street. With 3 - 4 DE events, you will go thru a set of pads, so why compromize on both? Street pads won't hold up and are subject to fade in DE's and track pads will drive you nuts with the noise!

Stock pads work fine for street and the occasional DE. If you want to buy some pads for DE only, you can do so (it takes less than an hour to change pads) as that will certainly ensure you check your pad wear before a DE weekend.

I've used street pads without issue for DE. Do not be afraid that your brakes will fail if you simply use stock pads (just make sure they have plenty of material left).

I myself would not do DE with the stock pads...They will eventually be less than acceptable...whether now or later as you progress...I would try the Performance Friction 97 or 01 compound....They work fairly well when cold, and are great on the racetrack....They will dust and squeek a hair, like any good DE/track pad will. or do the street/DE pad swap at the track...Porsche calipers are quick and easy to change out.

I've used Pagid - Blues in the past, now I run Porterfield - Blacks. Both are ROTOR friendly.

I'm running Pagid Yellow or Black. At the moment I think I have yellow up front and black in the back (increases the bias in the back).

The porterfield blacks, are they r4-e's or r4-s? Thanks.

I use standard Textar for both street and 3-4 track events a year, but I have to admit that they also only last a year. (10.000 miles) Just changed to the larger 4 pistons on the rear so hopefully the back will now last 2 years ;-)
I use ATE blue racing fluid, and even though I'm pretty hard on the brakes I haven't had any problems. Not even with pretty worn pads. But then again I run for a maximum of 20 minutes at a time.

I'm using the R4-S, a bit more of a street pad (I just got a trailer for this DE season, before, I would drive to and from the track)

Got them from Rennlist sponsor "EBS Racing"

You may want to research this rennlist sponsor. I tried these and I like them alot. I do not track my car but they are advertised as a dual purpose pad.
