Replacing a bearing in a twin distributor
Is it possible to just replace the bearing in a twin distributor?
My mechanic told me that I need to buy a refurb distributor due to a bearing going out.
The cheapest price I could find is $748

Eric,
Read this thread in the 993 forum. He has been fixing these for a while. Might want to give him a ring.

The bearing is not available as a part from Porsche. Nor does it have a standard number on it.
If I remember correctly Steve @ rennsport had acquired some of the bearings from german supplier.

The belt is readily available.

Mark (the guy in Atlanta) rebuilt my distributor and did a great job. He is an airline mechanic and does this as a hobby. If I recall, he also just finish rebuilding an 86 for himself and did an awesome job on it too.
