Wheel size for narrow body C4?
I currently have a set of 993 Cup II wheels on my narrow bodied C4 with the wrong offset (30mm) and 255 wide Conti's fitted on the 8" rears.
As a result I'm getting some rubbing on the outside wheel arch and am looking to change the wheels whilst retaining the tyres.
The obvious choice would be to go for 8" wheels with a 52mm offset but does anyone with a narrow bodied car run 9" rears with 255 tyres? If so, any issues and what offset are you using?
Thanks in advance,
David

Hello,
I don't think you have 993 rims on your car. I believe the 993 fitment is 7 & 9" 55 offset front and rear. I have a factory 993 set on my narrow body C2 and with an extremely low ride height I have no rubbing on either the fender (rolled lip) or oil line. If you do a little research I am confident that this will bear itself out. If you like the style of the 993 cup wheel, by all means use them as many of us already do successfully. I just think that what you have is for another model.

I just put 18" rims on my 92 C2, with no rubbing issues, no problems at all. Offsets were 47 and 50, I believe, and from what I can gather, offsets are the key. I put 225s on the front adn 265s on the rear.

Thanks to you all for your responses.
Confirmation of 9" wide rears with a 55mm offset, running 255s is eactly what I needed to allow me to go and spend more money - thanks 1990-964!
Perhaps I should have mentioned that the reason I think I'm running 993 wheels is that the part number on the inside starts with 993!
Regards to all,
David
