Steve - You wouldn't be happening to draw that up in CAD are you? Or cutting by hand?

I will be drilling by hand as that is how I would do it on my fenders. I'll then put a light into the holes to check fit before I ever cut the fenders.

I will burn a candle for you tonight. I am not as brave to be drilling my own or anybody else 's fenders.

This could make a good DIY addition.

There are no cables there for the lights. You have to make them. The connectors are up by the hinge shocks.

I never got around to this. Still on my to do list.

Stevepaa, I think I got a good solution for cables, connectors and lights, VW golf, corrado, jetta from 1988 - 1991 (1992) have the exact same part. So if You find a crashed vw car, go an pick these up asap. Then its just to drill the holes and connect these. I'm curious what it looks like behind when You made the holes, dont want to drill and hit something, i need to do this soon to get the car through the "emissions test" here...

If you look in the PET you will see the harnesses in the electrical section. Cost is approximately $50 per side from Sunset.

I mispoke. The cables are in the ROW PET. But at $50 each I decided to make my own.

Reviving an old thread

Thinking about with adding euro side turn indicator lights to my cab. Would need to drill 2 holes in each fender, mount lights and route wire bundle from main harness to lights. The indicator wire bundle has 2 grommets on it and I can see two plugs when I open the door in area forward of front edge of the door. I think one plug/grommet can be accessed by removing the inner fender liner, the second looks like it goes through the side of the tub but I haven't located it in the frunk. It might come through the tub down by the kick panel area, not sure.

So my questions to anyone who has done this in the past or has a ROW car with these indicator lights

How is the wire bundle be routed on ROW cars?

Is there access to the grommet/hole locations without removing major parts of the car?

i did it. Maybe i put in a thread about it. If not i can look for photos. You will find harness to connect with deep down behind the gassprings in the frunk in both corners. They are there not just connected on us cars. Pyramid drill holes, take away inner fender covers and make way for the harness up to the connectors in the frunk. Tight if i remember right...
