I passed a company just today whose sign says they do recodes, so it can certainly be done. I was told once that sticking it in the deep-freeze for a while would reset it...

Are you sure that wasn't ice-cream?

Most dealers will provide an unlock code for a fee... They will want to see proof of ownership so they know they aren't handing out the code to a thief. Some dealers may do this free while others may charge up to $75! Your best bet is to drive the car to the dealer. They will take down the VIN, look it up and give you the code. Some dealers may have to email someone else to get the code. This can take a day or two.

Thanks.

I don't expect it will be a problem now...who's stealing 15 year old radios that sucked 15 years ago?

Quick Reply: so if I don't have the radio code...then what?
