911 engine in VW camper!

this is not 964 but....
a friend of mine has just had a 1970s 911 engine put in his VW camper van (I know...). apparently it has a sportmatic transmission - i remember reading an article on sportmatic versus tiptronic in one of the porsche mags (UK) a while ago, but i've just moved house and chucked a load of stuff so can't find it. can anybody supply a copy of this as my mate would like to see it!

That's a common swap. I know of at least two VW cmaper vans w. Porsche engines. One of 'em was a turbo and competed in Gumball '05. It had tons of problems but it did finish.
I'd do the swap for the exhaust sound alone!
