Nick,

I didn' read all of the previous threads except for the one about not having any more 'Nickammers'. If you decide to make some more, please put me down for one.

Thanks...

You can still order an interface from ECUFix for $40USD.

JasonAndreas:
Thanks for clarifying that!
I thought it was a long shot due to different quality fuels, altitude etc as well but I figured it was worth trying to get some sort of “normal” parameters. Just a guideline as to what to expect.

Twood:
Glad your plug arrived and obviously the instructions were clear enough. BTW, the pins come from Sydney so they have just about made a round trip!
Congrats on the cricket……...close but hardly surprising result.

CWay27:
Apologies CWay27!
I have not done a thing about finding someone with a MAC and testing the software. Hopefully someone has tried it and will post an answer.

Thanks a lot

Geez, what did people in Alabama do to make you so mad?

Look like I might get in on this bandwagon as well..

Default Vacation time is over....dammit

My wife and i spent a glorious week away sampling large amounts of wine and partaking of some particularly nice seafood, wild pork and venison........and now i'm back at work.......just seems so wrong.

Over the last few weeks i have received lots of emails and PM's asking when i am going to do some more diagnostic tools - well i guess i am now. I *really* don't want to do the whole plug'n'play thing again unless someone specifically wants one.

A second run is going to be considerably cheaper and by just making the "box with wires" it'll be cheaper to ship etc etc.

If anyone is interested in the diag tool please just email/PM me so i can have an idea of numbers. This is not a committment to buy as it will always be subject to price. I will also get some 993 OBDII units made.

Hi Nick,

Finallly got round to testing it (and Posting) and I'm delighted. I also took my car into NinePlus here in Melbourne to compare with the "proper" Porsche tool and we got the same results.

Thanks again it really is excellent. I'm going to dig out an old laptop and put it in my tool box with the "Nickhammer' to take to track days.

Hi David,

Glad to hear you like the unit and have had a good play with it.

If you don't actually own an old laptop with a serial port, don't go and buy one just yet. I may have a USB solution but i won't be able to test it out until the weekend.

Cheers
Nick

Thanks Nick,

I have an old Toshiba Libretto which is really small and has a serial port on it. (In fact even my new HP laptop from work has a serial port.).

Please keep me posted on the USB solution, would it work with pda's now that would be cool
