Not true! Actually, the 964/993 CCU system is a very well designed system. The CCU ECU is very
reliable and rarely if ever fails, e.g. usually when over-voltaged (charging), missing engine ground
wires, & reversed battery "jumps". The other major system problems are the result of the servo
motors and engine compartment connections, i.e. motor resistor/circuit breaker & temp sensor.
The majority of the time (+90%), the CCU is mis-diagnosed as the failure point when it's the
other system elements causing the malfunction.

I had a similar problem with the intermittent blower. After much useless troubleshooting, I discovered that the electrical contacts from the blower wiring had been pushed back into the connector housing.
they are easy to push back.
It may be a long shot but that's what happened to me.
