Console Switch Function
Hi all, newbie with another question. I searched to no avail. Can someone tell me what the switch with the exclamation point in the center console is for (next to the lock switch)? I have a 1991 Cabriolet Tiptronic that I picked up a couple of months ago and am working over the winter in hopes of getting her on the road come springtime. At the moment I have removed most of the interior bits (lots of water in the sound proofing material) and I was curious about this switch (can you still purchase an owners manual from Porsche?) Engine work is next up. Thanks for the help.

That is to cancel alerts from the ECU - you will get a Red ! in the dash as well when a trouble light comes on - you need it.
should be realitively inexpensive from Porsche (which means 60.00 or so)

You may be able to order the manual through your Porsche dealer. I've seen them on Ebay as well. You should buy Adrian Streather's Porsche 911 Enthusiast's Companion for the 964. Lots of great info of this nature and more.
