Default Cab Top Locking Motor

The locking motors on my cab top have failed. They work fine when not under stress, but fail to work when locking the top to the wind screen.

I clearly have to replace the motors. The problem is that I cannot seem to get them removed. I remove all the screws but I cannot seem to work them out.

Does anyone have a procedure for removal. The shop manuals (993) do NOT address the locking motors.

Thanks Very Much

Bob

It's been a while, but I think I remember you need to have the arm rotated slightly to get them in a position that permits threading them out.

I figured that was the case. I just could not seem to find the right amount of rotation on the arm that would enable removal.

Do you remember if the slight rotation was referenced to the locked or un-locked arm position?
