I saw it somewhere,but cant remember where.There is a hinge type adapter that you can bolt carrera engine lid onto a 964.

Yes you did. Mike Delaney made custom hinge adapters for his RS America wing to fit on his Carrera. I believe that is where you might of heard about it recently. The post was where HJCARLIN was looking to purchase a RSA AMERICA WING
