Yeh, get a new key. The heads are not expensive and a new one looks really nice. You can get the keys cut easily as well at a key shop so you too cvan have a brand new shiny key!!

I agree with dfinnegan, have to use the keylight to find the ignition at night. Thinking of fitting one of those alloy ignition surrounds so it'll catch the light better.

I had the same peeling issue, but on my speedometer/odometer. I had NHS re-do all five gauges in white-face. It was around $300. That was around 5 years ago and they still look great.
