Hi that was prompt!
Meant to say that I have indeed narrowed down to one car and am considering it at the moment. It is a 1991 C2, belongs to a friend...Any pointers on what to look out for will be good...

Shawshank... You should spend some time here with the search function... There are many great answers to this question with very good details. This question comes up on a weekly/monthly basis. They are great cars and will last you a long time if well cared for. Make sure you get a PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection) and try to find one that is well documented. There are a few on Rennlist that are selling I believe... I would start there.

...And welcome to Rennlist! This place is a wealth of knowledge and will save you thousands if you decide to purchase a Porsche!

On my son's karting forum, the moderators have put posts at the top of each forum for the most popular/recurring questions.

We should ask our moderator(s) to do the same thing with threads such as this.

An excellent idea.... Though we have something similar already. We should have a FAQ sticky at the top.

Get Adrian Streather's book on 964's -- has a good section on what to look for.
Get a PPI certainly --- but take Adrian's list and go over it yourself.
Have fun - it's fun to fall in love but don't let that cloud your good judgement!

Low mileage is not always a good indication of condition. I would have a PPI done by a PCA recommended shop and make sure the car has been driven on a regular anual basis. My $0.02 worth!
