Default Yet Another Suspension Question

I did a search and I've been reading the archives all morning. Right now my car has Bilstein HD's (not revalved) and H&R (red) springs and stock sway bars. I'm not too thrilled with the setup on the track. For the street it is much nicer than stock but look at my avitar. What's up with all that lean? My car weighs under 2800 pounds! I actually think the old worn out original setup worked better on the track. What I would really like to go would be the JIC Cross coilover set and TRG sway bars. Due to cash flow that's going to have to wait. What I'm thinking about in the mean time wouild be stiffer springs, revalving the struts to match the springs and the TRG sway bars. By the way I don't mind losing comfort on the street.

Questions
1 - Are stock RS or Cup spec springs available in the U.S.? If so how much $?

2 - Would either of those springs with the sway bars solve my problem?

3 - Should I just leave it alone and wait until I have the cash for the JIC setup?

Thanks in advance.

Not to hijack the thread, but what mods did you do to get it down to 2800 lbs? Do you still have the stock RSA seats and the airbags? 2800 is my goal for my RSA if I can do it without sacrificing the stock RSA seats.

Summer of '05 the car weighed 2845 on a PCA scale with the spare tire, all the carpet, secondary bypass, stock seats and a 1/2 tank of gas . This year at the track when that pic was taken I ran it without the spare, carpet, rear storage bin and new Recaro's. The old fog lights were good for a pound or two if you want to nit pik. I was unable to weigh it though. The seats alone are good for at least 40#.

Or, I just found a set of 92 USA Cup struts, springs and upper mounts with 2000 miles for $2500. Deal or no deal.

Where? Quite a find, that stuff is rare. But for $2500 I bet you could get something adjustable and custom-specced. PSS9s or Bilstein coilovers, JIC, Cross...

Dave

They seem to be at much better price than $2500 too.

Has anyone successfully rebuilt the cup shocks? Several people have written that its not possible?

Why not: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item2

I love my JIC/Cross setup, it comes with spherical bearings and they have great support. Go for it. The difference in cost is small at this level.

I think cup coilover setup have only linear spring with helper (tender)

For my future suspension upgrade of my 964C4 90 I'am very undecided between Cross coilover and H&R Cup kit.
P.S.: the H&R cup kit it's more expensive!!

Kgorman: do you have 7"/9" rims?, spacers at the rear? the amount of negative camber at the rear?

I have some issue of rubbing at the rear with MPSC on 9 rims with 15 mm spacers and -1° of camber

Ciao

They're from a U.S. Cup, they probably are.

Paolo: I ran my car for a couple years with the JIC-Cross suspension using 7" and 9" cup II wheels at anything from -1.5/-1 to -3.5/-3 for camber using a variety of tires from 205-235 up front and 255-275 in the rear. I had no significant issues doing so (occasional very minor rub). I used a 5mm spacer in the rear and fenders were rolled.
