Would the Clutch slipping feel like a hesitation
I have a 1994 with ~ 98k and I don't know if the clutch has ever been replaced. sometime the car feel like it hesitates of misses when you get on it hard. just a little bit. Like once or twice in that gear on the way up the RPm range.
Could that be the clutch?
Or is it not warmed up all the way?
or bad gas?
Is this a normal thing with these heavy cars?
Can a clutch slip when it gets old or is that just for High Hp cars?
How do you know when it is time for a new clutch?
Thanks
Derek

In my experience a worn clutch is often first noticed when accelerating in top gear where power and load load are at their max and tire slip is minimum. If you floor it at mid revs (3-4k) in 5th and the engine starts to race, you have a worn clutch.

It feels that way but the motor will rev up too. When my clutch was shot my rpm's would shoot up to red line real fast but the acceleration wasn't there.

I had a clutch done recently. The pedal had been getting heavy for a while.
Worn clutch was most noticeable in top gear and trying to accelerate when going up hill. You could just tell that the car wasn't pulling right. A bit like driving on a slippery surface and you're getting less traction.
Take it for a run up a hill!!
