Default Turbo Twists on 964?

I am browsing the used wheels as I contimplate expensive Fiskes, and I am curious anyone running Turbo Twists on your 964? PIcs? It seems the offset would work, but it would be tight.

What you really want are narrow body hollow spoke whese, which were optional on NA 993s. I have 2 sets that I run on my 964 turbo .

Here you go. These are Mille Miglia replicas - 8.5Jx18 in the front, 10Jx18 in the rear. Offsets are 52 and 47 respectively although fitted with 18 & 25mm spcers in my case because of the turbo body.

Dave

Dave, I'm not on the forums as much these days. Didn't you have the car resprayed after the body kit was re-fitted? Is this an 'after' picture? I missed any others you may have posted!

The car looks just amazing!

Howard,

Yes, this IS an 'after' picture. Notice there is no longer a black line between the rocker and the body - it is now bonded and filled. It makes it a nightmare to remove if work is needed on the oil pipes but it fits so much better. Front and rear bumpers are now bolted on rather than bonded, so much better there. This was one of my insurance renewal pictures taken in July this year. There are a lot more pictures in the history section on my web site - link below.

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave, it said it before and I'll say it again, superbly looking car. Only the size of your exhaust tip seems a bit ....ehhrr....long

Kgorman, my nephew runs exactly those wheels, as you say it is very tight and he has issues with tyre rubbing. Many people around here run them on a narrow body but I'm not sure that it's all cool from a safety point of view.

Kris,

At the risk of being accused of hijacking the thread, the exhaust tip isn't long - it's just that the bumper is short!!! The exhaust is a Fabspeed dual outlet but the tips are designed, obviously, for the standard bumper. The Pro-9 body kit I have, based on the Strosek design, has a really short rear bumper with the result of leaving the standard tips way out in fresh air!! Unfortunately the way they are shaped it's virtually impossible to shorten them - else I would have done it already. It doesn't look so bad in real life - other than from the angle of that picture.

Regards

Dave

Dave,
That is one of the most beautiful 964s I've ever seen. Very nice!

I have a set I used for autocross rears were the wide body ET 40. A little tight and only allowed a 265 on the rear. I am selling them if anyone is interested.

That MY90 C2 belonged to Oliver Zitzmann so whoever makes the lightest twists (not Mille Miglia) probably made those. I believe his shocks were Moton and running some crazy spring rate so he might not have had rubbing issues? Oliver was on Rennlist at one time but I don't think he's racing Porsches any longer. You could still try contacting him.

Absolutely beautiful car, Dave. The yellow looks great in all of the pictures, regardless of the light. Red is my mainline favorite, but one of my favorite cars was yellow, too. This was my car in my previous life:

Oliver's car is now owned by Drew Borwn. He does not race at all anymore. Those wheels are narrow body hollow spokes, not a knock off.
