Depends on how you intend to use your C4, I would say it is generally useless for the majority of the population and their daily uses. I think money would be better spent on better tires, brakes, alignment and possibly lessons.

My view and the majority of the 964 owners and specialists I know would always recommend the use of strut brace irrespective of whether the car is used on a track.

At £150 ish typically, it's a cheap upgrade which works well on a C4. (at the price of one tyre)..

If you do any spirited driving at all, your car will benefit and at the price, it's a good upgrade. If you take the car on a track, it might even pay for itself in a day as it evens up the tyre wear. The only downside is that it takes up some room.

I put a schnell on my 90 C4 and it feels stiffer but that could be in my head. My car always handled well around turns before, but i feel more confident with the strut keeping both sides intact. It just makes sense to have it with that much open unsupported space upfront. Surprise that Porsche did not make it standard equipment.

Has anyone had problems fitting the one-piece aluminum strut braces (ie. Fabspeed, Racing Dynamics) to a 964? Is it best to go with an adjustable setup instead? Just curious...

964C4,

If you haven't bought one yet check this one out. It is proving quite popular and they are also a Rennlist sponsor -
