Default A New User

After many months of reading this forum and finding a wealth of information, I figured that I should introduce myself and say hello.
I picked up my 1990 C2 in Florida and drove it back to Toronto a few months ago. The importation was and was not as bad as I thought it would be. In my reading of other's experience, I may have forgotten to follow some of the protocol, but it all worked out.
I've mostly been doing cosmetic work like replacing weather stripping and rubber bits that have dissolved from too much southern sun. There will be none of that up here in Canada. The car has 78000 miles and is in nice shape.
Here's a few pictures to get started.

Default Nice car! Congrats.

Awesome color too. Just out of curiosity, where in Fla did you pick the car up from? Can we get some interior pics?

The car was in Tampa. Here's an interior picture. A new shift boot and steering wheel recover is on the winter project list. I've been conditioning the seats and they're coming around.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from automotion.com (no afilliation) and they just informed me that the cashmere shift boot I ordered is on backorder until 12/21/06! I think I'm going to cancel that part and find another source!

Since winter is closing in up here and the car will be stored, I'm in no hurry. I was looking at ordering the boot and steering wheel leather from Alan Gun, but I haven't checked for availability yet. I'm going to tackle the front hood rubber seal in the spring and then it may be time for suspension work. (and a baby seat!)

Nice ride Phil -very clean! Grand prix white is quintessential Porsche and has really grown on me over the past few years.

Looks like we’re both in this week’s crop of new members. Glad you didn’t wait as long as I did to post!

Thanks Morgan,
Well at least you've been enjoying your car on the track while you've been waiting to post! I'm still warming up to the white, but once the suspension is lowered and I find some cup wheels, it will be a lot better.
