Ahaa, now I realize, your car has "down painted" sills and bumpers.
I did not see directly why it looked different to mine.
Sweet silver

Absolutey lovely!! You've got a beautiful car there!! I think the painted lower rocker panels really give the car a more muscular appearance and will go on my list of thigs to do this summer.
These photos really reinforce the pure aesthetic beauty of the 911 design as being timeless and classic. Congratulations and enjoy!!
By the way Polar Silver or Silver Metallic?

Welcome,
One thing that strikes me about that color
is the way the black elements pop in contrast
to the body color. That's something I'm missing
with the black body color. Is that avatar shot in B&W?
Regards,
-RK

thanks everyone.
to answer a few questions...
-I am a professional photographer. Have shot for Forza, Bimmer, World of Wheels, CanadianDriver.com and for my current gig at DRIVEN Magazine although I'm the editor so I hire a lot of shooters now. These were quick and dirty though.
-I don't know if the car is polar silver or silver metallic...it does look like light blue at times for what that's worth
-I will investigate the Toronto event

oh, and the avatar shot. it was actually one of the images that the seller sent me - one of over 30! i lowered the car in photoshop, removed the raised spoiler, made it black and white and darkened the environment around the car.

photo secret...keep shooting until you get what you want and select the best ones;-)
seriously, the camera is a 10D and the lense is a relatively cheap sigma 18-200 but more than sharp enough for 600px web images. The Canon 70-200 F2.8 yields noticeably better results in terms or sharpness, depth of field control and colour but it was early on sunday and it's heavy. the colour and saturation are mostly attributable to shooting in RAW and tweaking them with Adobe CS1 (AKA photoshop).
