Hi everyone, I am new to 964 ownership and my cars air conditioning unit has a squeek/noise in the blower fan (or at least thats where I think it is). The fan makes no noise when on the "1" or "4" position, but anywhere in between it has a permanent squeel. Can anyone tell me if this is a common problem and is there an easy fix? I would appreciate your help. Thanks - Dean.

Probably the bearings in the front blower fans. One side is easy to get to (although you have to take the firewall / fuse box out). The other side is harder though - I think some of the air con stuff has to come out.

Yes, fans... I have the same situation and I am just holding as long as I can before I tackel it... I still can remember the task when I replaced the evaporator... not complicated, just takes a lot of time to take all that stuff out to get them out. I just want to use the car... so even if I sweat a little I just use the car as is and open the windows.
