I tried to download, but it appears your server is very, very slow ...

I assume you went agricultural? We had some fun last weekend at Thunderhill where a couple offs started grass fires. Thankfully on the day when the wind was mild and not the day when it was really blowing hard.

Hey you do have a C4, No wonder you managed to pull out of the weeds with such nimbleness.
Guess you managed to get rid of your understeer!

Yes... as I started to approach the apex before I started to slide, I knew I was going way too fast! This track was really slippery, bumpy and all those other things that make it tough! There were 2 totalled cars this weekend (one rolled twice and it was a targa!) so I am lucky to make it out with just an extremely dirty car!

And yes the C4 made pulling out of the dirt very efficient!!! he he!!

Buttonwillow!

It would have been funny if you just continued off road like nothing happened..

I hope the car is ok. seems like it is. Looks like a blast, I wish I was there! Got any more videos?

I always loved driving at Buttonwillow, especially the east loop section in my old 914. The bus stop corner would always cause me to "pucker" as I went thru it. If you did it right, it was a rush, but there was always the chance to go off road. I went off once in the sweeper leading to the esses. I missed my apex and ended off in the dirt. Luckly for me, no damage to the car.

I hope your car is ok. Thanks for sharing the video. It brought back some good memories. I need to find a new project car to build. I miss driving in the DE's.

They actually redesigned the "off-ramp" section so it was a tough track. I'll post another video of a car that went off in front of me - quite exciting!!! One off was good enough for me!

Check this clip out... I am glad I didn't try to pass this guy... and glad I gave him enough room so he didn't collect me! Going off-track twice within half of a mile...
7.8MB mpeg4 video

Please excuse my crappy camera that goes out of focus from time to time - I think the extreme pitting of the windshield screws it up! (maybe it went out of focus to protect identity!)

Wow thats some great footage. Too bad the camera started focusing on the windscreen. (maybe cause some oil got it dirty?) Still cool though.

Know the feeling. Two weeks ago racing my car lost 3 quarts of oil on a straight and I looked like a mosquito fogger. Came in and tried to fix it Didn't work. This time lost 6 quarts onto the back tires in a 95 mph turn and into the grass spinning. Oil and grass / dirt makes a big mess

Still cleaning that mess up!

Ok, here is NOT how to take a corner. I have the boxster spec racer beat down the straight... the corner was mine, and I would have nailed this @#$%-er if I didn't have such good brakes with ABS - I had to jam the brakes on at the apex to keep from hitting him right where his numbers are! The end of the story is the Boxster ended up butt-first into the wall 8 laps later...

2.8MB movie
