Default 964 / cab locking motor / part no

I have a 93 964 cab and have bought a left side cab top locking motor on ebay.

Part number on the one I bought is 911 624 055 02 (part for 933).
Part number for 964 is 911 624 055 01.
Anyone having a clue whether the 933 locking motor can be used on the 964?

They're the same motors but left and right handed - I'm sure someone will chime in with the correct part numbers. Has the original motor broken?

I have taken out the old one and something mechanical is broken inside.

According to PET the motor on left side has the following part number:
933: 911 624 055 02
964: 911 624 055 01

(motors on right side are having 056 instead of 055).

When buying I thought there were no difference between 933 and 964.

Think the motors looks exactly the same but wiring could be different.
I could of course instal the motor but am a bit afraid of breaking something. For the time being the broken motor (and the 964) is in Norway and the new motor in Qatar. I bought the motor from eBay US.

It is probably more likely that I can use the 933 motor on the 964 than the other way around.

I think they upgraded the internal mechanism of the motors for the 993. When the motor breaks, it's usually because the internal brass gear has a broken tooth (or teeth). You can dismantle the motor and turn the gear on the shaft so that the piece where the gear teeth are missing doesn't get used any more, but you need access to a hydraulic press. It's a cheaper fix than the £500 or so that Porsche want for a new motor, although you could only fix it once!

Think I have the answer to my own question. I entered the 964 part number on Pelicanparts web and got the information that the part was superceeded by a the 993 part number.

Conclusion is that a 993 locking motor can be used on a 964.

I bought the motor on eBay (US) and have already given the seller good rating. Guess it is a bit difficult to ask Porsche for a replacement if it is a "recall motor" as I have a 964.
