Does anyone recognize this bracket or where these two small black sealing strips come from on the motor?

Thanx,
Kirk

If its all back together and thats all you have left over you did great! I can change my oil and have more left over parts then that
Think of it as weight reduction

OK, since no one else is being serious. That bracket is for holding the kanuten valve. The rubber strips are not really Porsche but windshield wipers from a bumper car.

It's not the Kanuten valve (a common mistake )... its the Fitzer Valve, but that was only on Euro cars. Just what the heck type of motor do you have!

And yes, nice wiper blade

i think the bracket might be off the throttle body .
cannnot remember seeing bits of rubber like that on mine , but i'd say they definately on the "cold" side of the engine !!!
maybe around fan-shield area ?

After VERY careful consideration by an independent panel of judges, it has been determined that no one will be crowned Mizz Porsche Part extraordinaire.

Please keep your guesses coming, and limit them to the engine area. The bracket was removed at some point and I sent it out for Zinc Dichromating... SO IT JUST HAS TO BE IMPORTANT!!!!

It would not be from the intake assembly, because I left that untouched, since it was being replaced.

I did consider the windshield wiper question enough to go look at the black stripping. Definetly not a wiper blade. Looks like it was used as edging for a piece of sheet metal somewhere?

Hmm,
Larry may have a point. The rubber strips might be 964 106 223 00, a rubber strip between the sheet metal and the timing chain covers. In that case they can stay off because there is no way I am taking off half of the exhaust and sheet metal for them.

By the way, is it possible to type a part number into PET and have it take you to the illustration?
