Thank you for the sarcasm. much apreciated when Im elbow deep in black crud trying to do a procedure I have never done before. after being scared ****less when my motor made such a racket i thought a big end had gone again!
I did look in the diy section but there is nothing in there.
I wanted to know how to take the assembly out of the car not just remove the fan. I was sure I had seen a step by step guide.

Anyway. never mind I have it all out now another quite fidly job not difficult just lack of room.
will drop it off at my mechanic so he can have a look I think he will fit a recon alternator.

If I am not under time pressure I will take pictures and write up a guide.

jim As I put at the end of my last post I will take pictures and do a write up if I can.
Although i am wary of doing this because I am no mechanic so I will see if someone can have a read over it first.
I did a quick procedure for removing the coils the other day but didnt take any pictures. may add that to the diy section as well.

Ok I have now replaced my alternator and all seems well. I just started a write up on how to remove and replace with pictures and everything then aol lost the connection and all was lost.

Anyway as the link above covers everything should we just leave it at that or shall I try again so we can have our own version on rennlist?

The next time you hit "Preview Post" or "Submit Reply" and your dialup internet connection is down don't hit the back button (if you're using InternetExplorer) right away. First reconnect to the internet and then hit the back button and everything you typed will still be there. I threw my computer out the window a few times before I stumbled upon this.

write it in word pad and then copy it into Rennlist. That way you can cut and paste if it messes up.
