Default 17" Cup 1 Alloys - Questions, questions!

Just bought a set of beautiful refurbished Porsche original 17" cups - 7" front offset 55 & 8" rear offset 52. I intend to put 205/50 on the front & 255/40 on the rear - this was as originally approved by Porsche in 92/93 I believe. Question is do I need to put longer stops or shims on the front? I've been told it is not neccessary but apparently there was a Technical Bulletin at the time recommending the increased length stops. Adrian Streather says 5mm shims can be fitted but I can only find 7mm - will these go on safely with the standard studs? Help appreciated!

The stops that were added in 1992 were actually put on the steering rack to restrict it's movement and prevent the tires from rubbing when the steering wheel is turned all the way in one direction.

You shouldn't need wheel spacers with that offset but they might accomplish the same thing.

for this combo you are fine without doing anything.
the stops were a running change for all cars regardless of wheel combo. No spacers are needed either.
