Quick fix: Unplug the battery for about 60 seconds. It should reset everything.

Tried the fault code process - my car is a 91 so it should have worked - but, the "check engine" light never blinked once counted to 45 (figured about 30 sec and nothinghappened - Will run a check on the full throttle micro switch to see if that is working - as this was the trigger - Don't knkow if the MAF rewire or system has anything to do withthe failure to display or not
Did the battery disconnect and the light is out - will see what happens now / next
Thanks for the help

A check engine light can be triggered by an erratic connection. If you've disconnected the battery, the fault is code's been erased. If it occurs almost instantly when the car fires up it's likely you have a real fault, if not then it's probably a sporadic condition which may or may not occur again. The CEL is great for isolating the spordic stuff because it points to which circuitry you need to be looking at for what will likely end up being a bad connection or wire.

Might want to check your throttle pedal adjustment. I know mine was hitting the floorboard well before WOT. You can see the adjustment in this thread. https://rennlist.com/forums/964-forum/274254-first-mod-diy-brake-gas-pedal-adjustment.html

Great link there Jason!
