Default How to sell your 964?

It may be time for me to give up my 91C4 cab, for something more family oriented. When selling our beasts, what special tips or concerns might I be especially tuned to? What sites might be best to list on. I live in a very rural area, 3 hours from San Antonio or Houston, Tx, without many Porsches at all locally.

Thanks for all your considerations. Car works just fine, I drive it weekly, always garaged.

I've sold two 964's by advertising through Pelican Part's BBS, and with the PCA. I also advertised them on Rennlist.com, but PCA and Pelican were where they actually were sold.

I bought one on Autotrader (my first one), bought one through a contact on RennList who saw a post for a car I was looking for, and bought another from PCA.org's website.

Hope that helps!

Average prices are around $25,000 if in very good condition in and out. Since yours is a 91, you have a positive advantage that the 89-90 cylinder head oil leak is not an issue. Check out www.victorymotorcars.com website. He is out of Houston and brokers Porsches. That should give you an idea of what pricing to expect. If he can sell your car for $25,000, expect to get $22,000 from him based on his ebay purchaese of Porsches. You can advertise in the classified section of Rennlist, not many 964's for sale. Try advertising in Canada as 964's in excellent condition still get a premium. You may have to get a registered letter from PNA that your car has cleared all recalls to get it over the border. Good luck

Try eBay too - that is how I found mine (as I live in a smaller centre too).

Most dealers will tell you that their eBay posts lead to inquiries and sales rather than folks buying through eBay. A local guy told me that the $50 listing fee on autos is a cheap form of advertising that reaches world wide.

I found my 964 through eBay, but bought it after it had been listed several times without selling. Beware of Victory (even though I just saw his ad in Panorama), take some time for due diligence and do some searches here, on Pelican and maybe Google for more.
