964 speedster question
As many people here know I used to own a 964 speedster years ago which was stolen from my garage. I have seen a few pop up for sale these days where the owners have listed them as 1 of just over 100 made. I was fairly sure the number made was over 400. Does anyone know how many were made and how many sent to the US?

I believe there were under a thousand total. The Speedster VIN #'s are only three digits after the 465. 465 denotes the Speedster as opposed to 460 on other 964's including the America Roadsters. I've never seen total agreement on this. I guess that is to be expected.

"Excellence Was Expected" quotes two sources for production numbers of the 964 Speedster.
1st: Total production of 925 cars, 771 in 1993 and 154 in 1994 but with no breakdown by market.
2nd: Total production of 936 cars, 427 sold in USA and 509 in ROW (14 RHD).
