Default Fuse #34 blows on startup

Hi All,
my '91 C4 has been parked for some time and now when I try to start it I blow fuse #34 every time. If I read the electrical diagram right then fuse #34 is the fuel pump. Any suggestions on what to check out before I go and replace the pump? I should probably replace the DME relay, I just didn't know a bad relay would blow the fuse.

Any suggetions greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

maybe the pump is frozen up. Try taking the under body cover off and giving it a couple raps with a rubber hammer or something.

There's nothing like a hammer to get things working.

well, I guess I could beat on it. What about using a 15 AMP fuse first to see if a little extra effort might jar it loose?

Maybe I should just go ahead a replace it. I had this fuse blow out once before a couple of years ago and all I had to do was replace the fuse and all was good.

I would rethink that idea.If the pump is damaged and it gets a higher load it could fry it befor the fuse blows.Frying a FUELpump who knows what might happen. You really have little to lose try the rubber hammer,it might just like it.
