I always have to laugh when people specifically mark an auction " I will not ship outside of the usa ".
Why would you cut yourself off from 2/3 of the market?

Do they think there is some magic security force they have to consult with before they print my address at UPS, and tell them whats in the box?

3 billion $ a day flows back and forth between canada and the us daily and this guy is worried about 6 pistons.

Could be a false sense that they are some how monitarily protected. It's a farse, of course. eBay provides no support what so ever. PayPal even less.

I don't ship internationally but will ship to Canada. The only time I've been ripped off on eBay was by a Canadian.

Nice rods. Curious what they'll bid to.

The whole thing baffles me. When I buy something on ebay I send them the money, and then they send me the product.
The buyer takes all the risk.
I just don't know what goes through peoples heads. Its not as if they were going to ship me the parts and then wait for my payment!

When you ship something, you go to UPS or fedex orwhatever, tell them the address, state the contents and give them some money. I can pretty much guarantee the ups store on my block is the same as the one in the usa, uk, italy or wherever.

Anyways, its just an annoyance. I'll stop hijacking the thread.

I have heard that 90% of the scams are from outside the US. Don't get me wrong though, other than it being a hastle, I would sell to anywhere.

Kirk, just for my information, what amount would you owe and how does it get paid, if the seller would declare lets say, $800.00 US for those rods, shipped to Canada.?

Sometimes there is duty on items and sometimes there isnt.
If the seller declares they are car parts manufactured in the usa, then there is no duty.
So I would pay $800 + exchange rate + gst (tax)

Right now the cdn dollar is about .90 or .91 USD so:

$800 * 1.10 * 1.07 = $941.60 cdn. + shipping.

Oh and how does it get paid:
visa /mastercard/money order/pay pal. The same way as if I was in the usa.

Usually I use paypal or money orders. They are the simplest to deal with for private sellers who can't just run your visa.

Shipping to Europe is a bit of a pain. Costs more and more paperwork. Since I usually do this is my estimate of shipping - if it's more a couple of bucks less I refund the difference and I eaat the difference if it's more. I generally use FedEX Ground if the boxes are large or more than 20 pounds.
