Mark....Dont give up the search. Good deals are out there to be had depending on your requirements. I see a larger number of GP White and Cab's but few Coupes. I spent nearly 4 months looking at a lot of really bad examples in the 20K+ range. Some did not even run and they wanted 21k. It got so bad I started looking at earlier 3.2 Carrera's and was giving up on the 964 dream.

I finally picked up a higher mileage 1989 C4 with full service history back to original 2k mile checkup. The car was well maintained and had some nice modifications/updates done over the years for 17k. This car was my return to Porsche ownership after a 10 year absence.

Autotrader currently has over 200 964s listed for sale.
25 of which are manual C2 coupes and only 9 of these are 92-94.

Isn't one of the problems with 964s the fact that because of the recession in the 90s, Porsche cut their NA production to the bone and in fact were nearly in financial trouble. Maybe someone has the prod. numbers. I had a 94 Speedster that I'm kicking myself for selling and have been looking for a low mileage 94 Cab off and on for years.

Porsche made very few 1993 and 1994 964s as compared to '89, '90 and '91 models. 964 production seemed to peak in 1991 and then dropped off substantially. Also, the 993 was out in the spring of 1994 as a 1995 model in the US, so I would assume many people just passed up buying a 964 during that time frame and waited for the 993.

Adrian has the production numbers and maybe a quick search on this board may reveal what he has posted in the past for production numbers.

Here we go.....my car has Full documentation from new to present. Every 15000k service was done by DEALER. My mechanic said I would have a VERY HARD TIME to find a 964 in my area as clean and as well kept as that car. I have an auto detailing business, and I'll tell you, this car was kept clean and is even cleaner now. We just had a baby boy and I would love to keep the car to hand it down to him.(he's 3 months) I've tried the more practical model 996, it's not for me, I love the rawness of the 964. Maybe I need some DE time to get me back in touch with the car.
cheers

I was so picky on what I wanted (original cab, 92-94, low mileage, mint), that I had expanded my search along the whole east coast. After 6 months, found what I was looking for 1,200 miles away- flew down and bought it, had it shipped back up. (I found it on Autotrader.com) Sometimes you have to expand the geographical search just because there aren't as many clean ones out there. I wanted 30-40K car for the weekends only, and wound up with a 1993 C2 cab with only 13K miles- I was very very happy! She has about 21K on her now 4 years later Keep looking- when when you go to see it you'll know if its "the one".

And 12 of those 25 are listed by Victory so there may be as few as 15. I called them to see if they still had the Murano green 1990 and he said they sold it. I asked how many they have (964s not just C2s) and he said 5 or 6. The guy kind of rubbed me the wrong way so said thank you and left it at that. THere are deals out there. A 42k mile Amethyst C2 just sold in Indiana a few weeks ago with an asking price of $22.5. It was only on Autotrader a few hours when I called and it was already sold.

Also there are a few out there I'm going to pick mine up tommorow. Paying under 30k but just barely. Will post pics and details when I get her home.
