As much as I love the Rennline product I was intrigued by the idea of fabbing my own version. A friend gave me a "rejected" aluminum gas tank he had from a hotrod shop. Using that as the base (eighth inch) and some lighter weight sheet fro the sides I came up with this to hold my Odyssey in place. It and the battery seem to work great. I use the existing hold down and t he abse simply tucks under the lip that grips the original battery base and then riveted the sides in position and bolted the top plate in position to lock it all together.

Thanks guys, I was happy with how it turned out. The weight savings are pretty good particularly when you consider the position, The Odyssey is 15 lbs. I don't have an official weight on the stock unit but I think its well more than double. I don't have a "heavy draw" stereo so I am confident it is up to the task of running everyhing, so far at least. As part of my overall and ongoing diet program I can recommend it.
