MUSTY SMELL and Frigi Fresh
If any of you have that musty smell in your heater or AC try Frigi Fresh http://www.rynoproducts.com/13.html
I was amazed at how well it worked. Completely cures the problem.

Just spray it in the front air intake and let it sit. Doesnt smell like chemicals or Lysol. I was impressed by how well it worked and it is 9.95 from this place.

Sorry - newbie question here - where is the "front air intake" found?
I have a nasty musty smell that gets worse when you direct the heater air to the floor instead of up to the windscreen, so I was assuming the problem must be mold or whatever in the intake... but till now, I wasn't sure what to do about it, or even where to start looking.

Rod,
Open the front hood and spray the stuff for 10-15 seconds into the front vent under the winshield when the AC is on .... to get the frigi fresh completely inside the system. Then let it sit with the engine off per directions on can. I did this 2 or 3 times over a week (even though it worked after one application) and all musty smell is completely gone. Really was surprised by how well it worked. 9.95 cant really beat it.

Alternatively remove the carpets in the front footwells, lift the sound proofing and marvel at the swimming pool underneath. You may also have an interesting culture of fungi there. Nothing that a good scrub on a nice hot day won't cure.

Something I do if I plan to let the car sit for more than a week is get the AC off, and move the heat to max for the last couple of miles. That dries the evaporator and all the interior ducts, and I don't have the musty smell when I drive it again. I run a dehumidifier in the garage, and that helps keep things dry.
Thanks for the tip on the cleaner. One problem with old cars in humid climates is the smell.
