Thanks, yeah, it's a beauty! ...fingers crossed. I actually put a (lowball) bid on another car just before I found this one. (Un)fortunately, nobody has outbid me, and the auction ends in ten hours! (..although I'm sure I'll be outbid in the end..)

If not, I think this is the one. Even though the eBay ad says "do not ask me to buy it now / sell this car outside of eBay", I talked to him and he said he did have it advertised locally and would sell it if the price were "close to my asking price"...which is $23,500. That might be a little much for a '90 C2, but that not too bad. I may make him an offer and see if he runs with it.

Maybe...might be worth just bidding in hopes that nobody else bids. But I'm almost afraid to lose such a nice car. Hmmm...

Doug,

That car looks wonderful. One question, what are those boxes mounted to the door above the map pocket in front of the door latch handles?

Good luck, but be sure to budget several thousand more for repairs and upgrades once you buy this car. They are no cheap to own. The flip side is that the buying price is much less than a new car so it all works out. Have fun.

Thanks, I've been doing my research. The only thing hanging on this car is, at only 42k miles, it hasn't begun to leak oil yet. He's had the distributor vent kit installed and the clutch has been updated. Everything else works well on this car.

But for sure, I realize that it's not a new car and will require maintenance and upkeep. I was toying with the idea of another Boxster (..and am still not ruling it out..) as a more "maintenance free" car than any older 911. But in the end, I've never owned a 964 and would really like to sometime in my life. I think that time is now. Even if this one doesn't pan out, there are a couple off others I've got my eye on.

So I just called the guy to make an offer, and....????

Sold it yesterday to a local for $23,500.

****.

But I have a back-up in mind that....wait...what? ..it sold this weekend, too?

****.

Today is not a good Monday. (..should I have expected any differently?)
