10x17 tire size Q
What's the biggest tire you can put on a 10x17 inch rim. Not worried about clearance issues, just what is maximum size that will still allow the tire to perform properly w/o messing up the side wall integrity.
I know a 255 or 265 is good, but can you install a 275 or 285 and have it still perform properly or do you then need to move up to an 11 inch rim?
Thanks

It depends on the tire. I'd check the tirerack specs pages for what the manufacturer recommends for the tires of interest.
You can put a 275 on a 9" rim and it fits really well on a 10". According to Hoosier, you can go up to 295 on the 10" rim.
