Interesting parts. Can these collars be used on stock suspension to lower the car without other modifications. I need about 30mm in the front and 10 in the rear. I would like to avoid changing out the stock suspension because it rides and handles quite well but the front is too high. I can't go to Eibacks all around because that will lower my rear too much as I have 18 inch rims and changing only the front suspension was not recommended. Changing out the collars could salvage my stock springs. Has anyone tried this route. Sounds too good to be true.

Last toy.....

Don...I did this to "ALL" my new car inventory when I was the Porsche sales manager out here 13 years ago. It's the best way to go....buy two collars....lower the car and re-align it. Total time 6 hours, plus alignment and parts cost....$1,000.

YYC930,
Awesome, thanks for the follow up. I'm definitely going to pursue this route. Thanks

I ordered a set today. Just for the fronts. I'll put them in tonight. Hopefully this will bring down the front end a little. Sol the owner of Perfect Power said he's had a "spike" Of calls asking about these perches in the last couple days.

I talked to Sol this morning. Said he has been selling these for 15 years. Nice guy, knows his cars. Said the collars can lower a stock suspension down 3 inches but recommends the existing shocks should be shortened if the car is lowered more than 2.5 inches. If not the springs could float if the wheels go airbourne. Also recommended a complete corner alignment and make sure the front rake is about 1 degree lower than the rear to cause the air flow to pull the bottom of the car down. Sounds pretty knowledgeable to me.
Mbrouder, please let us know how you do with them, I'm pretty much sold on them. I'm probably only going with the front to.

I just had them handed to me a few minutes ago. They are a lot larger than I thought they would be. They appear that will will provide more than enough lowering. I'm only looking to get an additional 1/2 -3/4 inch. I'll take before and after pics. Mind you I already have Eibachs on the car.

sol installed the adjustable perches on my c2 years ago and i was very happy. he also aligned and corner balanced it at that time. the car handled incredibly. my only disapointment was that i didn't do it the day i bought it. follow sol's recommendations and you will be very happy. another benefit of the alignment was that my tires lasted much longer.

Yeh, he gave me a real education about good alignments and corner balancing and checking the weight dispersment at all 4 corners, etc., etc. When someone offers that much knowledge free on his time, you gotta belive he has passion for what he does.

Don -

I don't think Eibach's or H&R Sport springs will lower your rear too much, I put H&R's on my 91 with 18" wheels and had no problem. If you are running the stock (original?) shocks I would just repalce everything. Bilsteins get "hard" when they get old and just don't work well regardless of springs. The Eibachs i'm putting on my 93 C2 soon are variable rate, combined with new Bilsteins and an alignment will give me excellent handleing. I know the 91 went from a pogo stick feel to feeling like it's riding on rails through the twisties. I paid about $900 for the springs and shocks, add $300 for full alignment and your done...

Bilstein will rebuild their shocks for $65USD so if you can still return the one's you just bought it might be worth looking into.

I just learned a hard lesson. Never assume anything. These perches don't fit Bilsteins. They're too big.
