Default Hi, i'm new. Question about oil leak

I'll try and attach a photo of the cab.

I am going to do a valve adjustement very soon and want to fix an oil leak coming from the chain case cover gaskets. Question is, are there seals around the bolts that hold the covers on, and should i be replacing these as well as the gaskets ?

Thanks

Lew:

Welcome. I just had the same work done...(new house + new son + 2 yr old = NO time). Shop replaced all of the gaskets and the 20 or so seals. Cheap parts, but a 7 hour charge for labor.

Have fun!

Yes, there are 18 little donuts called "pressure rings", part #964-105-140-01. If you are replacing those you might as well replace the o-rings under the "oil bridge" that supplies oil to the chain case. You'll want two of 999-701-909-40 and two of 999-777-288-40. There are also gaskets underneath the left and right hydraulic chain tensioner covers, part #964-105-177-03. The left side (ontop of the chain case) never leaks but the right side (on the bottom) can.
