This is a flow diagram for the entire HVAC system
This is the path that heated air travels
and this is a flow-diagram for the front distribution box
Mice can find their way into the passenger compartment via the recirculating air opening-thingamajobs that are located by the seat belts.
In my case I think they got into the engine compartment and from there worked their way through the heat exchangers, up the orange/pink hoses and into the plastic distribution lines that run the length of the body rails.

Jason, they say a picture is worth a thousand words - Thanks for the 5000 word post! Looking at those diagrams makes the system seem so much less complicated.
(are those diagrams from the shop manual?)

Jason........truly great pictures!
I am contemplating sorting out my heating/AC problems soon so its timely and very useful stuff.
I now think that there is a possibility i can understand how and where the damn thing works!
Much appreciated.
