Default steering column switch

I need to replace my steering column swtich. This is as far as I got. How does one proceed from here? I can not figure how to remove the bottom plastic piece. Then how does one remove the switch unit?

Thanks for the thread, I just did not use the correct search terms.
But I still have a problem. I have the stalk for the OBC which complicates the removal of the lower plastic piece. Marc, did you just twist and contort it to get it off?

My left turn will also not cancel, so I will get a new one. How much was the one from Automotion? Local dealer wants $160

Also I am going to add headlamp washer. Did you have any other pics of wires on right side. Was there a white one?

thanks

I replaced the unit, but not without some extra work.
The lower plastic piece will bend an amazing amount and I did get it out without removing the lower dash/knee protector panel.
I could not pull the wire connectors out because there was a tie wrap holding the bundle to a support flange. I had to remove my heating/ac control unit to get to the tie wrap and cut it. After that everything worked out.

Thanks to all for the help.

PS. The dog to cancel the turn signals on the new unit has a trapezoid shape, i.e. the protruding end is the widest part and the width diminishes down the lenght back into the switch mechanism. On my old one, which would not always cancel, then end had worn so the cancel cam would just effectively push the dog back into the switch instead of pushing it circumferentially. Pushing the dog in a circumferential direction cancels the signal.

Glad to hear you got it sorted.

Did you get the e-mail with the bumper measurements/photo?

One last note. The new unit is almost silent in its actions, unlike the old one.
