...not to be a sceptic, but a stiffer front end lends to more understeer

I agree, I was sceptical due to exactly that: the stiffer front end would increase understeer. I've raced my Westfield V8, Jedi single seater and a full Works-built Lotus Chevette over the years that would both eat the C4 for breakfast in any performance comparison so I'm not a complete novice when it comes to car set-up and how that affects your lap times. Nevertheless I can guarantee you that when I put that strut brace on the c4 the difference was immense. I bored the pants of my friends going on about how that was the best £120 mod I'd ever spent on a car......

Just for interest here are a couple of shots...

Cheers
Alex

Seight, that Westfield V8 looks to be one hell of a ride. What's the output?

Hi Syd. B

My Westfield Seight was approx 320 bhp and 340 ft/lb torque. So you can imagine how quick it was as it only weighed 670 kgs. 0-100mph was a whisker over 8 seconds. I say was because unfortunately I no longer own it. I had it for several very happy years up to 2004 but now I have to pay school fees so racing is out the window for a while.
Thanks for your interest and yes it was a wild ride.....

Cheers
Alex

Wasn't a strut brace offered on the RSA? Seems like I saw that somewhere recently... if that is the case, I doubt it would be considered a disadvantage.
My .02 cents
