Anyone have a spare stock ECU or chip?
Please help! My Autothority chip is running way to lean and pinging at tip in and above 4k rpms. I'm afraid I'm going to burn holes in my pistons if I don't go back to a stock chip soon. Unfortunately, my car did not come with a stock chip. Anyone out there willing to part with their chip or ecu? If so, please e-mail or PM with terms.
Thanks,
Andy

Indycam,
No, I have not looked inside the dme, other that to verify the model number of the chip. I had a hammer hooked up about 3 months ago to reset a crash sensor that I have forgotten to plug back in. While the shop was at it, I asked them if there were any other codes thrown. They did not find any misfires or large knock counts. I had the car on a dyno this weekend and my worst fears were confirmed. The air fuel ratio was at 13.34 by 4k rpms and climbed over 14 by 6k. I had been hearing what I thought was predetonation at tip in for a while. The dyno also showed really choppy hp and torque curves beginning a 4k when things started to go lean. I have a cup by pass pipe and a K&N air filter installed with a drilled stock air box. It seems that the fuel maps on the chip are just not keeping up with the air being delivered above 4k.

Thers're a number of Rennlist sponsors that can resolve your ECM problem
by testing the unit and supplying a stock chip. Continuous driving with re-occurring
pinging is really bad for the engine.

If you have predetonation , you should have a huge knock count .
You might be doing yourself a big favor by sending your DME to Lorenfb .
He can check it all out and tell you whats what with your DME / chip .
His post above is a little bit misleading . "number of Rennlist sponsors" ? He is the "dakine guy".

Loren,
I checked your website out today... Very impressive. I think I may take Indycam's advice and have you take a look at my ecu and chip. You have PM.
