Your car looks incredible! I've been led to believe that much of the Zymol process is applied using the bare hand, is this true?

thanks for the comments , but all thanks go to glyn for the shine , all i did was stand around smoking and talking to him all day !!!

ended up entering the car in the "show and shine" and bug-freeze today . it got a lot of attention and photos took of it . pity they parked me under a section of the roof that was dripping water

All by hand Kris, a car needs to be in really bad order for it to need machine polishing 1st but you always will end up finishing the job like this in the same way.

Of course, I don't expect him to share trade secrets but a slight glimpse at the way of working would be nice. We'll be on stby till he comes around again. Cheers.

kris , matt ,
i cannot get my email at the moment , so i cannot contact glyn to remind me of what products he used , if he's not replied by tommorow i can email him after work .
i don't think there are any trade secrets involved , just dedication and enthusiasm for the job , he knows about nice cars (porsche ferrari etc.) knows that its all in the detail(done concourse judging) , and i'm sure he'll give you full information of what he did to my car as its no different than he does to any car .

hi gents, there is no magic way of using the product but as ian says i do have knowledge and a love for the end result.
i would first lehm klay the car to remove any form of oxidisation, check to see if your car has any on bu inserting your fingers into the cellophane from a packet of cigarettes and gently wipe them over your paintwork and it should feel as smooth as silk.
secondly hd cleanse the cars paintwork always working in straight lines, to be fair i only use hd pro and normally give 2 coats, finally applt the wax, very thin coats but in using zymol vintage it does not really get any better. all the products used are zymol and nothing else as over the years i have found these to be far superior in application, shine and longer lasting.

Ian, Glyn,

Thanks for the response. I've either read or been told the lehm klay is somewhat more aggressive than the off the shelf stuff (Mothers, Meiguirs, etc.) is this true? Also do you use the lehm klay with water or some other instant shine lubricant (again such as mother's)?

My former 993 was black and I would like to think I did a pretty good job, but again your results are incredible. As I've never used any of the above I would like to hear more of your experience and expertise with these products.

Thanks,
Matt

Tx a lot Glyn and Ian, when I finish my Meguiar's bottles I'll certainly give it a try.

I wouldnt say the klay is more aggresive but yes you do need to use a lubricant with the product but this is simply to help it glide across the panel, zymol also do the lube in a bottle.if you maintain the car correctly you should never need to klay the car more than once in its life unless you get a harsh amount of fallout on it as the wax puts a coat of carnauba on more than 10 times the industry standard. so regualr washing and waxing will take the oxidisation from the top of the wax rather than your paint.

Wow, that looks great.

The body work on my car needs a bit of attention - stone chips, scratches on the bumpers (not mine) and a crease in the drivers door (that's mine) removed. Any recomendations in the Surrey/Middx area ?
