Default Wheel offset vs. width

When you move to wider wheels would the offset change or stay the same? I am looing at moving from 9x17 ET55 wheels to 10x18. Should I be looking for 18 with an offset of about 55 or do I split half the width of the wheel and add that to the offset so I would want about a ET67 more or less?

Other way....when you go to a 10" rim, you want to be roughly at 47mm offset. If you go with 67, you'll need a spacer.
