TPS Help Needed
Hi All,
I'm installing a Zeitronix wideband O2 set up and can not find a 0-5 v signal on my DME plug for the TPS on my 90' C4 5 speed.
I can find the WOT (full load) and Idle speed switches on 53 and 52 but not a variable potentiometer. My Zeitronix can measure variable throttle possition based on the 0-5 v signal of the potentiometer. The above mentioned 52 and 53 only measure open and closed possitions via switchs at both WOT and idle.
In my facotry manual quadrent C50 of the electrical diagram it shows a potentiometer but it appears that it's only for tiptronic cars.
Am I being dense or does a 90 C4 5 speed not have an potentiometer variable voltage input to the DME for measuring throttle possition?
Thanks and Best Regards,
Joe.

The 964 does not have a linear potentiometer switch in the TPS, only a switch. for idle or full throttle (I can't remember which). You can replace the TPS with one from a 944 Turbo which has both. Some rewiring will be required, but you'll be able to provide the Motronics ECU with the binary switch information and your data logging system can use the linear potentiometer.
