*Re-posted to correct typo*
I have recently purchased a 1993 RSA. The previous owner installed an aftermarket radio/cd player. I have the original Porsche CR-1 radio. I want to re-instal the CR-1. Of course the connectors have been cut off and wired for the after market radio.
Nonetheless, I now have "flying leads" coming off the CR-1. Do any members have the proper wire assignments. The colors are
RED, YWL, BLK, BLUE, WHITE w/BLUE STRIPE. Also, I have the work shop manuals and the schematics dont match the above. Please note this is a standand alone radio, no CD in the trunk or power amp.
Thanks!
Rob

Rob,
The CR-1 is an Alpine unit. Alpine has very standard wiring and color coding.
Alpine head unit wiring (since the late '80's anyway) has the following connections:
Black is ground
Blue (solid) is for a power antenna
Blue w/White is for remote turn on (typically for an amp)
Red is Ignition (switched 12 volt)
Yellow is Battery (constant 12 volt for memory)
Hope this helps,
Jay

Those are also ISO standard colours on every car stereo (14 so far) I have installed.

"I have the original Porsche CR-1 radio".
Rob,..
Please disregard my photograph and info. I assumed the "original" to be the same, "Blaupunkt Symphony Radio/K7", which was installed in Germany on many of the 964’s of that époque...
Good luck with your installation...
