Default O/T : For those who stay over when visiting the Nurburgring

We're thinking of visiting the 'Ring again this year, but Paula's MS (as ever) is that little bit worse, which will make staying at the Tiergarten Hotel that little bit (even) more difficult.

Does anyone happen to know if any nearby hotel, etc. has 'proper' disabled facilities?

Hi John,

I've stuck a message on the Ringers list. Will let you know if something turns up.

Cheers,

JW

Thanks. JW.

Since posting this, Sabine has told me that the Tiergarten now has three rooms for the disabled, so I SHOULD be OK. Checking it out now.

Apart from the obvious "Try the Dorint", someone mentioned the following about the Tiergarten:
They have some rooms at ground level - easily accessed
from the parking area - however - no other facilities
(e.g. breakfast) are available without stairs. I'm a
fan of the Tiergarten - but I can't see how it works
if you're in a wheelchair.
Let me know if you need more help finding a suitable place.

Cheers,

JW

It'll be fine, thanks, JW.

I already have the breakfast situation sorted: either we'll bring it down to the room, or I'll simply rope in some support to haul Paula upstairs in the wheelchair. Actually, I favour the latter, as I never like the fact that she can no longer walk stopping her from going anywhere that she would have gone before. It just takes planning and effort, and sometimes a bit of ingenuity, and often quite a bit of willing help.

As you know, we are fortunate to know many good and helpful people who realise that being a bit of a help to someone is good for the soul.
