Default Odometer digit alignment

When I was searching for my car I had read somewhere that the odometer digits should always be nice and straight/aligned.

I have always noticied that when the 9's come up on my car they are a bit skew. As has been the case on my previous cars.

I've just noticed another odometer on ebay that is a bit skew.

Is this pretty much what everyone sees?

Did I simply misunderstand the reference I read suggesting that Porsche had somehow solved the scewed number scenario as the digits change?

Just curious.

The digits on the speedo of my '90 C2 seem to vary in the perfection of their alignment as the kilometers click by. Like you, it's something that I've noticed (so it might be perhaps a bit worse than in my other vehicles) but have never been overly concerned with. I guess there's not likely to be a Porsche Odometer Digit Alignment Specification so it's all pretty much a non-issue anyway!
