Default Primary silencer bypass (uk)

Hi

Has anyone got a cup pipe surplus to requirements that they want to get rid of. (Cheap!!)

I have a g pipe on my C4 at the min. and is to loud for most UK tracks.

Thanks

Rob

Rob,
Noise test on my car with STANDARD exhaust was 103dB at Goodwood - I run with a G-pipe but have standard silencer for track days!

I just got a G pipe. I was hoping it would not be too loud, no I am nervous. Is the primary bypass quiter than the secondary??

What noise limit to UK tracks impose? Over here most tracks impose 92-93 dB, my C4 ran with a secondary bypass and never had a problem.

I have a cab. It was loud the first few times I drove it but got use to it quick. I dont really notice a major noise difference while cruising then before the change.

Robh,
You are right to be nervous. Some places -Goodwood,Castle Combe it is debateable whether a 964 with the full system will pass noise !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You stand more chance with a Cup than a G .

All the best

Geoff

Rick

A lot a tracks in the Uk are now running quiet days which can be as low as 95db max. With the cat bypass and g pipe my C4 was running 107db at an airfield recently, which would ban me from most proper circuits. (and nearly did from the airfield!)
A friend of mine is running a cup/cat bypass setup and runs at about 102db on a RS which seems to be ok if you sneakily cut back 500rpm or so on the static test and backoff slightly on the drive by one.

Regards

Rob
