Has anyone experienced wheelspin in reverse?

I was waiting for traffic to pass to pull out of my drive yesterday and someone flashed to let me out. Normally, I find that reverse is the easiest gear to stall in so I gave a bit of extra gas to get out quickly to avoid holding up the traffic and spun the wheels all the way out of the drive...say for around 2 seconds. I have never had a car that has done this before...I mean I haven't actually deliberately tried it in any car...but it made me smile...

Reverse is geared lower than first, and the weight shifts to the front when reversing. For both reasons, it is easy to get wheel spin even in lower powered cars. Other than the lost rubber, no harm as long as the way is clear!

Years ago I heard spinning tires next door , over and over , went for a look see , a fiat X-1/9 could not get up the driveway from the house to the street , just would get to the steep part and spin its tires like it was on ice . I asked the guy to turn around and try going up backwards , just more spinning tires . Good fun to watch .
